Configuring a static IP in EPSTACK

EPSTACK is configured for DHCP. You can configure it with a static IP if DHCP is not available or a static IP is required. If DHCP is available, the appliance will obtain an IP address and it can be found via the console window.

epstack ip

In order to configure a static IP address, you must log into the console to do so. The default login is admin for username and elkadmin for password.

Gain root access and edit the network interface configuration file
[admin@ELKC1-N1 ~]$ sudo su
[root@ELKC1-N1 admin]# vi /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

Use the following as a template and enter your network configuration. Your network configuration may vary.

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=static
ONBOOT=yes
IPADDR=192.168.168.150
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=192.168.168.254
NETWORK=192.168.168.0
DNS1=192.168.168.1

Save the file, disable Network Manager and restart the network
[root@ELKC1-N1 admin]# chkconfig NetworkManager off
[root@ELKC1-N1 admin]# service network restart
